6 Hamlethill is a two bedroom whitewashed cottage, set on the hillside above the village of Cove on the Rosneath Peninsula, with spectacular views across Loch Long to the Argyll and Bute Forest Park and the mountains beyond.
The cottage is one hour from Glasgow and gives excellent access to good walking in the Arrochar Alps, sailing, kayaking, bird watching and diving.
The cottages sleeps 6 (3 doubles) and is well appointed for a casual and relaxing break. In winter heating and hot water are provided by a solid fuel stove with back boiler, together with an electric shower and heaters.
Local amenities include two convenience stores (Cove & Kilcreggan), a cafe, pub, butcher, small Boots chemist, hardware store and barbers in Kilcreggan. For fine dining there is the Knockderry Hotel about 30 minutes walk away, but please note this is the only place on the peninsula to get an evening meal, so prepare for self catering.
The Burgh Hall at Cove holds regular events and the nearby sailing club is members only, but guests can be signed in.
Hamlethill can be accessed by public transport. Trains from Glasgow Queens Street to Helensburgh then bus to Cove, or trains from Glasgow Central to Gourock and then ferry to Kilcreggan.
